The Climate Tree is a partnership of like-minded, action-oriented organizations dedicated to delivering – today - significant climate change benefits through the conservation of tropical forests.

The Climate Tree responds to urgent calls for action to fight tropical deforestation. We’re losing 13 million hectares of these carbon banks each and every year. We’re exhausting much time – and much carbon - discussing schemes that might, one day, link carbon dollars to forests and that might turn the tide of deforestation. Tropical forests are going up in smoke while we search for a silver bullet to couple carbon trading with avoided deforestation.

Silver bullets seldom work. The Climate Tree responds to urgent calls for action on tropical deforestation through an innovative, dynamic program predicated on the fundamental belief that we must not only get out into forests but also into boardrooms and into international dialogues to make an impact. Each day of inaction is another forest lost, more families' lives destroyed, thousands of animals and plants killed and millions more tonnes of carbon pumped into the atmosphere.
